Before you start

What you actually need

At the airport

Using your eVisa on arrival in Egypt

A short list of what to show, where to be, and what to expect.

What to show

  • Your passport (the one tied to the eVisa)
  • The approved eVisa PDF, printed or on your phone
  • Your hotel address, memorized or written down
  • Onward travel proof if asked (return ticket or itinerary)

What to expect

  • Skip the visa-on-arrival queue entirely
  • Immigration officer scans your passport and checks the eVisa
  • Entry stamp applied to your passport
  • Total time at immigration usually under 10 minutes

Eligible Egyptian airports

  • Cairo International (CAI) and Sphinx (SPX)
  • Sharm El Sheikh (SSH), Hurghada (HRG)
  • Luxor (LXR), Aswan (ASW)
  • Marsa Alam (RMF), Alexandria (HBE), Taba (TCP)

Important reminders

  • Print backup recommended even if you have a digital copy
  • The eVisa is tied to your passport number, not your name only
  • Same passport at boarding, immigration, and exit
  • Save our WhatsApp (+1 707-606-0634) in case anything goes wrong

Common pitfalls

Common reasons applications get rejected, and how we prevent them

Most rejections come from a small list of avoidable issues. Our hand-review catches them before submission.

Photo wrong size or aspect ratio

  • How we prevent itWe reformat every photo to Egypt's 4 x 6 cm spec before submission. The single biggest source of DIY rejections, eliminated.

Passport expires within 6 months

  • How we prevent itWe check your passport expiry against your arrival date. If it is too close, we flag it before submission and recommend renewal.

Typos or mismatched details

  • How we prevent itOCR auto-fills from your passport scan, eliminating retyping errors. A specialist cross-checks every field against the document.

Low resolution passport scan

  • How we prevent itIf your scan is too blurry or cut off, we ask you to re-upload before submission, not after. No surprise rejection two weeks later.

Missing hotel or accommodation

  • How we prevent itIf you do not have a booking yet, we add one for $5 to satisfy the requirement without forcing you to commit to a specific hotel early.

Arrival date outside validity window

  • How we prevent itWe confirm your arrival date is within the 90-day validity (or 180 for Multiple Entry) before filing. If your trip is too far out, we hold until closer to the date.

Application FAQs

Questions about the process

Quick answers to the most-asked process questions. See the full 63-question FAQ for more.

Under 5 minutes total. Step 1 (package selection) is under a minute. Step 2 (passport upload with auto-fill) is about 2 minutes. Step 3 (selfie, arrival date, payment) is about 2 more minutes. Most customers complete the whole flow on a phone.

You can review and edit every field before final submission. After submission, minor corrections may still be possible if you contact us right away at inq@egvisas.com. Once the application reaches the Egyptian government, edits are no longer possible.

From the date of issue. Single Entry: 90 days from issue, with 30 days of stay starting on your arrival date in Egypt. Multiple Entry: 180 days from issue, unlimited entries, 30 days max per visit. Apply close enough to your travel date that the validity covers your trip.

Reasons outside our control include Egyptian public holidays, security name-match reviews (more common for certain regions), portal downtime on the government side, or your passport scan being too low resolution. We notify you immediately if a delay is identified.

Yes. We email you at submission, at government acknowledgment, and at final approval. For interim status updates, message us on WhatsApp at +1 707-606-0634 with your order number; our team replies within 10 business minutes.

Rejection by the Egyptian government is rare but possible. The government fee is non-refundable once submitted. If the rejection is due to a documentation error on our part, we refund our service fee in full. Common causes of rejection are listed below in the rejection-prevention section.
